House of Cards faces competition from real life

From the archives of The New Yorker.

  1. Thank you for reminding me: an episode of the original British House of Cards is on in 15 minutes as I read this. I would have forgotten.

  2. "Cards" is strictly "B" fare now compared to the ongoing dramedy currently afforded us by the 45th White House reality programming. The highlight real just keeps growing in quality and quantity with every passing day. Their writers are basically illiterate, the actors can't act- but that doesn't stop them from delivering the goods! This is one helluva show that will be definitely missed- you just don't get this level of entertainment everyday... anywhere!

  3. Except for the character of Melania could be, but I always thought it was about the Clintons. Bill D.
